WCL or Western Coalfields Limited is among st the 8 Subsidiary Establishments of CIL i.e. Coal India Limited that is under the control of Coal Ministry. The Company integrated under the Act of Companies, 1956 has its listed office at Nagpur. Western Coalfields Limited has been conferred the status of "Miniratna" on March 15th 2007. The Establishment has contributed about 8.6 percent of the countries production of coal during 2009-10. The Company is a chief source of coal supplies to the industries situated in the West of India in the States of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujrat and also in Southern Indian States of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka.
